UAE-Syria travel: flydubai resumes daily Aleppo flights after nearly 14 years
Daily operations begin ahead of peak summer travel demand
DUBAI – flydubai will resume direct daily flights between Dubai and Aleppo from July 20, marking the airline's return to Syria's second-largest city after almost 14 years.
The Dubai-based carrier announced that Aleppo International Airport will become its second destination in Syria alongside Damascus, further expanding its regional network and reinforcing its strategy of connecting underserved markets.
The new route also arrives as demand for travel between the UAE and Syria continues to grow, particularly during the busy summer travel season.
Dubai-Aleppo flights
The daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport (ALP) will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), giving passengers another direct link between the UAE and Syria. The route will also be available through the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, allowing travellers to book a single ticket, enjoy through check-in for baggage and access an extensive combined network beyond Dubai.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said the return to Aleppo represents an important milestone for the airline's network expansion plans.

The introduction of our daily service to Aleppo marks an important milestone in our network expansion strategy. Our primary mandate has always been to support Dubai's aviation hub by creating direct air links to previously underserved markets. By providing reliable, daily operations to Aleppo, we are not only catering to a strong existing demand for direct travel, but we are also fostering closer economic, cultural and familial ties between the UAE and Syria," he said.
Historically recognised as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and an important commercial crossroads, Aleppo remains a significant destination for business travel, cargo movement and passengers visiting friends and relatives. The restoration of direct flights is expected to offer a faster and more convenient travel option for members of the Syrian diaspora living in the UAE and across the Gulf, reducing reliance on indirect routes.
UAE-Syria travel
The launch builds on flydubai's growing operations in Syria. On June 1, 2025, the airline became the first UAE carrier to operate a daily service between Dubai and Damascus. Following strong passenger demand, the route has since been expanded to three daily flights.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said the positive response to the Damascus service encouraged the airline to strengthen its presence in Syria.
"Since resuming our flights to Damascus last summer, we have been encouraged by the strong demand for travel on this route. The resumption of our non-stop service to Aleppo builds on this momentum, providing our customers with greater choice and more convenient travel options between Dubai and Syria. The launch of our new daily service also comes at an ideal time to support increased travel demand during the peak summer period, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board soon," he said.
Passengers travelling on the Aleppo route will be served by flydubai's modern fleet, featuring lie-flat seats in Business Class and ergonomically designed seating in Economy Class. The airline also offers an inflight entertainment system, internationally inspired meals and cargo capabilities designed to support bilateral trade between the two countries.
Fare details
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Aleppo start from Dh8,000, while Economy Class Lite fares begin at Dh1,800. For passengers departing Aleppo, return Business Class fares start from $2,000, with Economy Class Lite fares available from $470.
The Aleppo launch continues flydubai's wider network expansion, following the recent addition of Benghazi in Libya and Bangkok in Thailand. The airline is also scheduled to begin services to Pokhara in Nepal from September 23, 2026, as it continues to grow its international route network. Flights to Aleppo are available through flydubai's website, mobile app, UAE Contact Centre, travel shops and authorised travel partners.
